ESI is seeking a Canvas and Engage VR LMS Administrator with an exceptional commitment to service excellence to join the team. As the Canvas/ Engage LMS Administrator, you will be an integral member of the Learning Management System program team, collaborating with diverse and talented team members to enable a world-class, integrated teaching and learning  experience for faculty and students that sets the standard for Classical Online Course Delivery The LMS Administrator role is responsible for the highest level of ownership for the Canvas Learning Management system. This role will serve as the Canvas technical expert within the Optima Classical Academy community, responsible for all LMS management activities including technical configuration, user/account management, settings, course shell management, role permissions, branding, and other core functions. This role will coordinate with development teams, data and reporting staff, and the product manager to drive effective platform implementation and ongoing use.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and certifications
  • 3-5 years experience with LMS administration; 2+ Canvas administration preferred.
  • Experience with security and privacy along with production systems and platforms
  • Working knowledge of REST API and experience with tools such as Postman
  • Working knowledge with MS Excel and the management of CSV files
  • HTML expertise required, CSS expertise preferred


  • Configure and manage technical settings to ensure Canvas is customized to meet the needs of end users across academic departments
  • Manage user account creation, roles, and permissions
  • Coordinate with the registrar and other information systems to ensure course shell, term, and section creation occurs in tandem with key academic calendar dates
  • Serve as a point of escalation for LMS data troubleshooting including student grades, progress, submissions, and basic integrations
  • Engage the use of CSV uploads and API calls to drive automation and standardization
  • Troubleshoot issues with core platform functionality
  • Assist in the integration of 3rd party tools and vendors through coordination with integration lead and developers as needed
